That's assuming the no-response option, what if they come back with the rejection option, i.e. CO does not agree with MO, what then when you have an official excuse from the MO? What is the point of threatening "Who would be responsbile?" when we all know that SAF does not respond to complaints?
no such thing as unit CO is bigger than the authority of medical board lah... especially with the deaths of a handful of servicemen in the news in recent months...Edited by Rednano 04 Dec `08, 6:06PM

I have sent my unit the MO's letter, can the CO still insist that I attend the ___ course and charge me with AWOL if I don't? Would the excuse memo from the MO constitute "Official Leave"? I know that reservists have been charged for AWOL if MCs are not endorsed, but this is a letter direct from the endorsed source.
Knowing how SAF works, what good is a complaint?
I ask because dead men tell no tales, considering what has happened in SAF over the past few months, who knows whether the servicemen in question were strong-armed by their superiors to perform the training even if they were officially medically excused, the superiors can just simply deny foreknowledge.
simply fax / send this mc to ur unit clerk...

For Example:
A Honda Jazz would cost from £8,302($18,618) to £12,602($28,261) in England.
However, It'll cost between $53,800 to $65,300 at list price.
Where did the extra $35,000 go?
An Audi A3 1.8T FSI S tronic would cost £19,445($43,607) in England but would cost $116,200 here.
Again, where did the $50,000 go?
Even Proton, people would think due to the reduced shipping cost would be cheaper right? WRONG.
The Proton Gen-2 1.3(M) would cost £7,805($17,503) in England but would cost $37,000 in Singapore.
Hence, do you think cars are overpriced here?
buy 2nd hand or cars from those bankrupts kena seized by banks auctions...

Electricity tariff reduced by nearly 24.7% for first quarter of 2009
By Channel NewsAsia | Posted: 04 December 2008 1242 hrs
SINGAPORE: The electricity tariff for households will be reduced by 24.7 per cent to 22.93 cents from January 1 to March 31 next year.
SP Services said that on average, the tariff for all customer categories will be down by 24.9 per cent due to lower fuel oil prices.
It added that for the first quarter of next year, tariffs are pegged to a lower forward fuel oil price of S$92.99 per barrel, which is 40 per cent lower than that of S$155.14 per barrel for the current quarter.
The electricity tariff is reviewed quarterly.

Molester jailed 10 months, rapist 5 1/2 years
By Zul Othman, TODAY | Posted: 04 December 2008 1031 hrs
SINGAPORE: He went for a party with a friend in September last year, and ended up molesting another guest - a 19-year-old girl whom they had gotten drunk - while the friend raped her.
But then the 22-year-old student’s conscience kicked in, and he implored his friend to stop. By then, however, it was too late in the eyes of the law.
On Wednesday, the student sobbed in the dock as District Judge Jill Tan found him guilty of molest and sentenced him to 10 months’ jail and three strokes of the cane.
His friend, also 22 and married with two children, was convicted of rape and given five-and-a-half years of jail time plus six strokes of the cane. They cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim.
In pronouncing sentence, DJ Tan said that while it was in the student’s favour that he had stopped his friend, this did not lessen his culpability “to such an extent as to warrant a sentence substantially below the benchmark”.
She also noted how both had taken advantage of the victim’s “drunkenness and inability to fend for herself”.
She added: “They were clearly complicit in what happened to her, not least because each was not afraid to commit his offence in each other’s presence.”
DJ Tan, however, gave the student a minor reprieve: He was allowed out on S$6,000 bail so he could complete a school project, before beginning his sentence on January 5.
According to court documents, both men had gone to the party and played cards with the girl, who was a friend of the host.
After a few rounds of drinks, she passed out and slept in a room.
At about 3am, the two entered the room. The male student began kissing her and fondling her breasts, while his friend removed her underwear and raped her. Though shocked, the girl was too drunk to resist.
But then, the student had a change of heart and asked his friend to stop. Both then left.
When she awoke later, the victim told her boyfriend of the incident and was taken to Changi General Hospital for a check-up. A police report was lodged.
The district judge on Wednesday said the fact that the duo had perpetrated these offences on a helpless victim, meant their punishments “must therefore carry sufficient retributive weight”.
The man convicted of rape could have been jailed for 10 years with a fine or caning, while the student could have been imprisoned up to two years with caning for the molest charge.
After judgement was passed, the rapist was put in handcuffs and led away, while his accomplice sobbed in the arms of his 68-year-old mother. - TODAY/rose

In this age and day, many girls are experimenting sexually at ever younger ages. So when it comes to the true Mr Right, a girl would probably have a few sexual partners. Also there are some more adventurous girls who have it in the double figures. Do you think they should be truthful about their own history?
Would you trust your man to take it calmly? He might always take offense and mistrust you unfairly because of your revelation. He might be jealous and use it as a weapon in future arguments.
Would you then be unhappy if your boyfriend reveals that he has had many partners before? Would that taint his faithfulness in your eyes?
